KD Sofa vs Regular Sofa: What Buyers Should Know

KD (knock-down) sofas use a modular split structure that ships flat and assembles on site, usually without tools. Because the sofa is broken into smaller panels, more units fit into one container, the pieces are easier to carry through narrow doors and apartment elevators, and a damaged part can be replaced instead of the whole frame.
Regular one-piece sofas have an advantage when buyers need a ready-to-use product with no assembly step. The trade-off is higher shipping volume, higher freight per set and more difficulty moving the sofa into small urban homes. For guesthouses, apartments, short-term rentals and commercial projects, KD construction is often the practical choice.
TANZUO produces both compressed roll-pack sofas and KD knockdown sofas from one factory in Foshan. Our KD models are engineered with standardized parts, tool-free assembly and a comfortable sit that holds up to daily use. Tell us your target market and installation conditions, and we will recommend the right structure and packing plan.
